Please support our efforts to raise money for Gutjwa School

Our promise is that every penny, cent or centime raised gets spent on Gutjwa. There are NO fees, NO kicks-backs, NO wastage. Lorraine Hird takes your money directly to South Africa, and spends it with local people on supplies and projects of immediate and direct benefit to the pupils, staff, helpers and community of Gutjwa School.

As Ted Simon, world-traveller and author of the seminal round-the-world-by-motorcycle book, ‘Jupiter’s Travels’ and more recently ‘Dreaming of Jupiter” says of the Ride Round The Top and the Gutjwa Appeal it supports:

“Anyone who has travelled a lot can feel like the merest drop in an ocean of need, but still one has to do something. What I learned is that the best way to help is on a personal, one-to-one basis. If you really want your money to work, but you can't go out there with it yourself, give it to someone you know and trust, who will put real time and effort behind it. I've met Lorraine, I know her and trust her, and I'm sure any money she gets will hit the target.”
